You will have noticed that work started to investigate and repair the voids in the A217 at Burgh Heath. SCC Highways Officers delivered the attached letter, which explains some of the issues.
Additionally the attached photograph gives just a little idea of what the engineers are facing. When this was taken the extent of the sinkhole was unknown, and until the extent is known it is difficult to give a precise timeline for completion, as I’m sure you will understand.
Highways have a dedicated ‘update’ report and we have asked anyone who wishes to be kept updated to email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will add them to our distribution list.
Sadly, one of the irritants, despite having a ‘Marshall’ on site by Wood Lane to direct traffic, 24/7 in all weathers, people keep moving the ‘Diversion’ signs and cones at the end of ‘The Mad Mile’.
As I hear more I’ll let everyone know.
