Additional Road Works Around Kingswood

Reigate Hill Closure Southbound for 14 Weeks

Reigate Hill will be closed Southbound for 14 weeks to replace the temporary crash barrier with a permanent one.

On Saturday & Sunday nights (5/6 September), between 8pm & 6am, the road will be closed in both directions between M25 Junction 8 and Raglan Road. This is to enable them to move the existing crash barrier to the middle of the road.

On Monday (7 September), the Northbound carriageway will be fully open to traffic. Southbound traffic will be excluded from Junction 8 to some point near the 30 mph limit sign.

The official diversion routes start further North than Kingswood, so my suggestions for alternative routes are:

To Reigate – drive down Dorking Road/Pebble Hill Road and turn left along the A25.

To Woodhatch/Salfords – as for Reigate but cross the A25 to Betchworth and take the country roads to Woodhatch and on to Salfords.

To Horley – take the M25/M23 to Gatwick.

To Redhill – turn left at Blackhorse Lane ( just before the layby before Junction 8), then turn right into Markedge Lane (very narrow) and then left along Gatton Bottom to Merstham.
