News from the KRA
Final recommendations of the Boundary Review were published yesterday, 2 October 2018.
Further to our canvassing and with your support in July and August, we formally lodged a comprehensive residents’ response with the Boundary Commission in August 2018.
We are very pleased to advise that the Boundary Commission has accepted our recommendations and the Final recommendation for Kingswood is to combine Kingswood north and south of the railway line into one ward, as recommended by all, including Kingswood Residents Association, KVCA and our Councillors.
We believe that many of the representations we received and lodged contained strong and clear evidence of community identity which has added to understanding of the nature of communities in Kingswood.
In summary, Kingswood remains fully intact, in a ward named Chipstead, Kingswood and Woodmansterne, which also includes Burgh Heath.
You will be pleased to read the final recommendations from the Boundary Commission, published yesterday, as per the following link below:
This recommendation is subject to parliamentary approval with implementation of new arrangements at local elections scheduled for May 2019.
We remain grateful to all residents for all your support in this important initiative.
