Kingswood Litter Pickers

Established in August 2020, Kingswood Litter Pickers are part of a larger five village community (Tadworth, Kingswood, Walton, Burgh Heath and Lower Kingswood) of litter picking volunteers all with a common objective of improving the environment on our doorstep.

Establishing a litter free neighbourhood for Kingswood and our surrounding villages is vital for the sustainability of a thriving community and diverse ecosystem. We owe it to ourselves, future generations and the wildlife that inhabits this beautiful part of the country to behave responsibly. Our litter picking efforts are more than just asking volunteers to pick up litter. It’s an opportunity to educate and change poor behaviour for good.

If you would like to volunteer to join Kingswood Litter Pickers, please register your interest on our Facebook group where you will have access to a rotation of monthly village events (post lockdown restrictions) and loan equipment:

You can also support us by following and sharing @CleanupTadworth Twitter/Instagram posts.

Once lockdown restrictions are lifted, we will resume our monthly Kingswood litter picks. This presents a great opportunity to clean-up litter hot spots in the village en masse, meet like-minded neighbours, get some exercise, and enjoy the chance to socialise in one our local bars or cafes after an event.

For the moment though, we are restricted to socially distanced groups of two, which is a little more difficult to co-ordinate but not impossible – as you may have seen by the number of purple sacks around the village!
