Bank Holiday Monday 25th May 1pm to 3pm at Shieling, The Warren KT20 6PQ
Sarah & Robin Wilson have worked out a way in which they can safely open their Shieling garden to visitors who have been missing garden visits during the Covid19 lockdown. And they are combining this with the chance to pick up some plants as part of the Kingswood Safety Net Seedling Exchange Scheme.
On Bank Holiday Monday come to Shieling between 1pm and 3pm but be ready to queue before entering Shieling if this event proves popular! You will be able to walk around the garden alone or in small groups from the same family, keeping well away from others. Photography is permitted . Please restrict your walk to 30 minutes. There is no charge, but Sarah & Robin are collecting money for the Nursing Charities usually supported by the NGS open gardens scheme and would be delighted if you contributed.
Then select any plants you want from the tables near the front gate – all priced £1.00 unless special and owner has indicated a higher price. We will provide bags and it will be self-serve. Put your donations in the collecting tins.
We obviously need seedlings and plants to offer if this is to work well, so if you have surpluses of any kind please drop them round to Shieling, in a pot with a label, on Saturday or Sunday. Just leave them on the table on the drive.
There will be information you can photograph if you would like to join the Seedling Exchange Scheme. And there will be copies of the Surrey NGS Yellow Book to give away – in case we can resume garden visiting in late summer!
