Remembrance Sunday will be different this year, with no formal parades and ceremonies, but please – Lest We Forget – we owe a huge debt to our service personnel over the years.
To commemorate Remembrance Day 2020, we hope you have seen the stunning display of large poppies tied to the lamp-posts on the A217 from the M25 to Banstead, on the Trees in the Tadworth Roundabout and lastly in our Village Parade. We have heard from local Mothers that their children have been looking out for the poppies on their school run – which is lovely to hear.
150 of these poppies were generously donated by Residents and Companies in Kingswood. 100% of these donations to benefit the Royal British Legion.
Furthermore, many residents bought the poppy face masks hand made by Janine Connick, longtime Kingswood resident and she has kindly donated 70% of the masks proceeds to the Royal British Legion. They were a immediate sell-out!
Over £1600 was raised at the time of writing, all from generous-spirited Kingswood residents and businesses.
We remain very humbled and grateful for all your support.
