DO YOU know our local shops are under threat from a new development on the station site in Kingswood?
A development plan now before Reigate and Banstead Borough Council includes a large Co-op convenience store on the site. The store would be much bigger than anything in the village and poses a direct threat to the local shops which have served us so well during the pandemic and are a vital part of the village community.
Added to that, such a big development with inadequate parking would make it even more difficult to find a parking space in the village and add to congestion around the Waterhouse Lane/Furze Hill junction.
The Kingswood Residents’ Association (KRA) and the Kingswood Village Community Association (KVCA) have already made strong formal submissions objecting to the scheme. Now we need your help to add to the 93 complaints already received by the council.
It couldn’t be easier to register your objection today. Simply go to the Reigate and Banstead Borough Council website https://www.reigate-banstead.gov.uk, click on Planning, then Planning Application Search and enter the reference 21/00470/OUT. Click on the Make a Comment button and complete the form provided, then just click the Submit button to send your comments.
The more residents who object, the louder your voice will be heard. But hurry.
