Some additional information on the Kingswood Big Band:

All are all professional musicians, but some of the notable players are:-

Ronnie Hughes: Played trumpet with the Ted Heath Band, can be heard (uncredited) on lots of records, and appeared in the film Quartet directed by Dustin Hoffman.

Bill Geldard: Played trombone with John Dankworth, Ted Heath, Geraldo, and Mantovani, among many others, as well as writing many superb arrangements. He also coaches amateur bands, giving them the benefit of his guidance and musicianship.

Barry Forgie: Trombonist, arranger, poet, polymath. He has for many years been the Director of the BBC Radio Big Band.

Duncan Lamont: British jazz legend. One of Britain’s most original voices on the tenor saxophone. He has written songs for many famous singers, including Blossom Dearie, and has composed a lot of music for film and television, including the children’s T.V. show Mr Benn.

With Best Wishes
Bob Gunn
