Trip to Stratfield Saye – Tuesday 7th June

The Kingswood Parish Events Committee is organising a trip to Stratfield Saye, in Hampshire, on Tuesday 7th June.

StratfieldSayeStratfield Saye House was the country seat of the First Duke of Wellington, the hero of Waterloo. It is on a much more modest scale than Apsley House, his London residence, and contains a fascinating collection of paintings and furniture purchased by the Great Duke, as well as some of his more personal mementoes. Stratfield Saye is still owned by the Dukes of Wellington and we are very privileged in being given exclusive access to the house for the whole day.

DukeofWellingtonOur coach will be leaving from St. Andrew’s Church, in Kingswood, at 9.00 a.m. and we should be back home by about 5.30 p.m.

The cost of the trip is £35 for adults and £34 for seniors, to include morning coffee and guided tour of the house. Lunch will be supplied by the Wellington Farm Shop and can be pre-ordered at a cost of £9.00 – £9.50, depending on the choice of dish.
