TWOAT supporters were very generous and we received a record number of donated bottles for our stall at the Walton May Fayre. This raised just over £270 with another 30 or so bottles left that can be used as raffle prizes and the like over the next few months.
The two 10-mile John Allinson Memorial Walks took place on Friday May 31st and Saturday June 8th. The first walk attracted 38 participants and took place in dry conditions. The second walk had 23 participants and were lucky in that the three periods of heavy rain coincided with a coffee break inside Dorking Golf Club and on the other two occasions when walking under substantial tree cover. The walk included a visit to the ruins of Betchworth Castle which many of the walkers had never previously seen. Money is still being collected from the participants’ sponsors but indications are that the £2,000 target should be reached.
Over sixty promises have been received to be included in the TWOAT Auction which concludes on June 29th. Depending when you read this there might still be an opportunity to place an online bid via the TWOAT web site www.TWOAT.org
The next two events for TWOAT will be selling Teas in Keith Lewis’ garden at 41 Shelvers Way during the afternoon of Sunday August 11th when it is opened as part of the National Garden Scheme and a BBQ being organised in aid of TWOAT by Roger Ponsford and friends in his garden at 54 Meadow Walk, Walton, on Sunday Sept 8th.
