TWOAT is very pleased to report that their Street Collection raised £533 and their joint St George’s event with St Cecilia Chorus raised £700 for TWOAT and £300 for St Cecilia Chorus. TWOAT also raised about £278 selling teas in Keith Lewis’ garden when it was opened as part of the NGS scheme. Their thanks go to Keith Lewis and to all those that participated or donated at these events.
As an ongoing tribute to John Allinson, TWOAT will continue to organise two sponsored walks per year, similar to the ones that John previously led for the charity. These walks are being called John Allinson Memorial Walks. By the time you read this the first of these walks may already have taken place on Sat 26 May. However, it might still be possible to participate in the second on Fri 8 June from 9.30am to 5pm. The walk will pass through some of John’s favourite local haunts along a 10 mile figure of eight course starting, finishing and breaking for lunch at The Chequers in Walton-on-the-Hill. This will enable those who can only participate in the morning or afternoon either to leave or to start at lunchtime.
For further details of the walk either to participate or to sponsor someone that is walking visit the TWOAT web site or contact walk organiser Dick Shelley on 01737 817930.
