Tadworth & Walton Overseas Aid Trust
TWOAT has been delighted to welcome Rebecca Paul of Hurst Drive, Walton-on-the-Hill to our committee. As one of her first contributions she has created a facebook page for us to improve our local visibility. There is a link to this page from our own web site http://twoat.org/ – we hope you like it.
The TWOAT Teas & Talks sessions in Christchurch Hall, Walton, attracted around 20 people and raised £200. Many thanks to those that came and supported us.
The next event will be TWOAT’s popular afternoon ’Teas & Talks’ sessions in Kingswood Village Hall on Thursday 17th October at 3pm (see further details in the poster below). You are invited to come along to find out more about the valuable work which TWOAT does. Tickets aren’t required, but it would be useful for catering if you could let TWOAT Trustee Bob Gunn know that you would like to come.
TWOAT’s Annual Social Meeting will be held in St John’s Hall, opposite Tadworth Railway Station on Wednesday November 6th with doors open at 7.15pm. The evening will include a dinner and reports of our activities including a presentation by a doctor associated with Berega Hospital in Tanzania where TWOAT has recently funded a new epilepsy clinic. We make no charge for attending this event although donations are appreciated and we would be grateful if you could confirm your plans to attend to a committee member in advance so that sufficient catering can be organised.
We have decided to start our Street Carol Singing on Friday 20th December from St Peter’s church gate in Walton at 6pm instead of 7pm this year as we are aware that some residents can be alarmed if someone knocks on their door too late in the evening.
