The power of the people.
A planning application to develop the old builders’ yard at the Station with 28 x 2 bedroom flats and a Co-op convenience store has been withdrawn by the developer. Two reasons have been given. The first is a change in the housing market and the second is the widespread concern expressed by residents over the probable impact of the store on our local shops. At the time of writing there have been 217 objections, 26 in support and 2 neutral.
Local voices can make an impact.
There is an approved application to develop the site with 8×3 bedroom and 10×4 bedroom houses and we understand that the developer will now proceed with this development.
