Kingswood NSPCC News – November 2017

Annual Tennis Day Monday 15th May 2017

Our recent NSPCC tennis tournament started off in rather wet conditions which fortunately improved as the day progressed and the fantastic sum of £1,100 was raised for the Charity.
The final was played between Hilliary Holder and Gillian Rae who were beaten in a close match by Alex Martin and Victoria Powell. Bob Gunn and Valentin Pusnava were the umpires.
All players enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by the NSPCC committee. Our thanks must go to Rosie Akerman for all her hard work organising the day, to Bob and Valentin for their help and acting as Chair Umpires and to Kingswood Tennis Club for the use of their facilities.

Autumn Quiz Night Friday 8th October 2017

Ten teams joined together in the Village Hall to rise to the challenges set by our quiz masters at our Autumn quiz night to raise funds for the NSPCC. It was a closely fought match and our congratulations must go to ‘Fourth Time Lucky’, winning by a mile, with ‘Barking Mad’ in second place. Thanks to all the teams for supporting us and to Fisher Foods for a delicious fish and chip supper cooked on the premises. A huge thank you to our fabulous quiz masters Richard and Adrienne for running yet another brain testing quiz and helping us raise over £1,400 for the NSPCC.
